Many investigations on endless fibre reinforced plastics have shown that fibre parallel compression evokes different failure mechanisms. The micromechanical background of these failure mechanisms and therefore the according influencing factors are already well analysed. For a better laminate design two physically based models concerning the failure mechanism "kinking" on the one hand and "the non-linear stress-strain relations" on the other hand were combined and integrated in the calculation procedure of the common laminate design process.
